How it works

About 10 minutes. You need Global Reader, Billing Administrator or AI Administrator.

  1. Step 1

    Download the collector

    Check the SHA-256 and read the source before you run it.

  2. Step 2

    Run it as an admin

    Permissions and options
    • Signs in with the Microsoft Graph Command Line Tools app (delegated).
    • Scopes: CopilotCostManagement.Read.All, CopilotCostManagement-Policy.Read.All, CopilotCostManagement-Assignment.Read.All, CopilotCostManagement-UserData.Read.All, GroupMember.Read.All, User.ReadBasic.All, User.Read.
    • -Minimal / --minimal: balance and policies only, three scopes, no per-user data.
    • -UserScope PolicyMembers, AllUsers or None. -MaxUsers (default 500). -TenantId. -UseDeviceCode.
    • -Anonymize: hashes names, UPNs, groups and alert recipients.
    • GET requests only, against an allowlist of read endpoints. Every call is listed in the file.
    • Admin consent for the Graph Command Line Tools app stays in your tenant. Remove it in Entra admin center, Enterprise applications, Microsoft Graph Command Line Tools, Permissions.

    Drop copilot-snapshot-*.json below. The file contains names, UPNs and per-user spend, so keep it confidential.
